The Martin Glaser Memorial Award

The Martin Glaser Award, established in 1998, is the highest honor in Antique & Amusement Photographers International. It is bestowed annually to a member who has given years of dedicated service to AAPI and the Old Time Photo industry. Martin Glaser Award recipients have worked hard to keep the highest level of excellence in our industry and continue to strive to reach new levels of accomplishment. Most of all, they have demonstrated an ability to maintain this unique sector of the photographic industry as a fun and respected photographic specialty.

In 1979 after retiring from his career in the grocery business, Martin Glaser went to work with his son, Jack Glaser, at his Old Time Photo studio that had opened in 1978. Martin had been a tremendous source of encouragement and support as his son was starting this unique business, and Martin soon fell in love with Jack's chosen career. Martin continued to work at Jack's studios until his passing. Jack honors his father's memory with his generous donation of this annual award.

AAPI is proud to congratulate the following recipients of this prestigious award including this year's surprise recipient, Jack Glaser. Jack was selected by the AAPI Board of Directors who chose to honor him not only for his commitment to AAPI, but for his ongoing support and acknowlegement of AAPI members through the Martin Glaser Memorial Award.
